What is Medicare Part C? Medicare Advantage Plans

What is Medicare Part C?

Medicare Part C, also known as Medicare Advantage, is an alternative to Original Medicare (Parts A and B) that is offered by private insurance companies. It provides the same coverage as Original Medicare, but with additional benefits and options. These plans include HMOs, PPOs, and other private options, and they often have different networks, co-payments, and out-of-pocket expenses.

Additionally, some Medicare Advantage plans offer additional benefits such as vision, hearing, and dental coverage. Enrollment in a Medicare Advantage plan is optional, and individuals may switch between Original Medicare and Medicare Advantage plans during certain enrollment periods.

Medicare Advantage plans offer everything that Medicare Part A and Part B offer, additional benefits and if you join an HMO option, they provide coordination of care.

It is important to know your options when it comes to Medicare. If you need assistance, I am here to help.
